Founder’s Story

​

I grew up in Sierra Leone, where unreliable electricity and limited digital access shaped my early experiences. Determined to turn challenges into opportunities. I know what it means to be disconnected from opportunity. I built a solution that changes that.

​Millions of young people across Africa face similar barriers: limited access to power, inadequate digital skills, and a lack of clear pathways to entrepreneurship. 

 

In Sierra Leone, over 70% of the population resides in rural areas, yet only about 5% have access to electricity, which is generated from fossil fuels and is not consistently available. This energy gap has left thousands of students without the power to charge devices or access online learning. At the same time, the digital divide is severe; rural youth often lack basic computer skills, missing out on remote internships, global scholarships, and digital job opportunities. Many watched peers in urban areas advance while they remained disconnected.

This injustice inspired me to act. Through Eager Salone (SL) Ltd, we launched solar-powered digital hubs and practical training programs to bridge this gap, empowering youth with the tools, skills, and confidence to compete, create, and lead in the digital economy.

I founded Eeager Salone (SL) Ltd. and established the Eeager Legacy Institute to empower youth through computer and entrepreneurship learning and the  solar-power Hub that supply clean energy in my community and beyound. With a degree in Economics and Finance from the University of York and a passion for systems building, I have led initiatives that have powered 6,000+ lives, trained 300+ youth, and launched 2+ ventures.

We are working on a new project to ;lunch Eeager Entrepreneurship App, a mobile-first platform that guides youth through business creation, connect them to mentors, and tracks their progress from idea to impact. This is to increase the number of global digital entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone.​
